THE MOORS

“Two sisters and a dog live out their lives on the bleak English moors, dreaming of love and power. The arrival of a hapless governess and a moor-hen set all three on a strange and dangerous path. "The Moors" is a dark comedy about love, desperation and visibility.”

SPACE CONCEPT

The world of The Moors is divided into two areas.

The Parlor Room

Representing the interior of the house, filled with warm colors and nature imagery that is associated with women and temptation. It is the only point of civilization shown in the play and it is surrounded by the abstract power of the wild, corrupting it’s structure

The Moors

Portrayed as the exterior of the house, the moors is a vast, abstract space embodying strength and pathos. Nothing is fully defined with hard lines on the moors, taking on an impressionistic style that creeps into the space. It is overwhelming and powerful, but also natural.
